SLUGS

We have been having a lot of damp weather here in the campground this year. Something has been nibbling at the flowers and plants in the gardens, but we never have been able to find out what it was. Not the bunnies, not the squirrels, not the chipmunks, not the birds.

Yesterday Shirley went to the local garden center to get some plants to replace the marigolds that had been eaten completely away. The lady there said that it was probably SLUGS and to put some beer in a shallow dish in the garden. Shirley took two small plastic cups and a plastic bottle with some holes in it and filled them with "cheap" beer (Budweiser).

I emptied one of the small cups out onto a paper plate and counted 28 of the little devils. Ugly, huh?
