Heee's Baaack

Wow, what a trip. No drugs involved. Just a long transatlantic cruise on the Costa Mediterranea. Mostly Europeans on the ship -- Germans, Italians, French, Spanish and a few English speakers. All of the shipboard announcements were made in these languages. Fortunately I understand Italian so I had two chance at understanding the announcements. The even introduced the performers in the theater in all five languages.

The flight back from Sivona (near Geoova/Milano) was on Lufthansa as far as Charlotte, NC. Lufthansa is head and shoulders above the American carriers. Luxury and service. No just throwing down a pack of peanuts and offering some soft drinks. The meals were great and they had wine and liquor on the carts with no one collecting money. Hot towels before and after meals, two movies and lots of attention.

The display in the image shows the ships position and progress. Live with GPS input to the display. It is really neat to turn on the TV and see where you are and where you have been. Technology at work.
